Design: The font used for the headline is a brush-based script called Flash, which was designed in 1939 by Edwin W. Shaar. The typography is simple, with no attempt at graphic appeal, suggesting that production costs were being kept at a minimum. The same is true of other labels issued by the Phonodisc company, such as Carlton (right).
