Design: The label name is set in a monoline brush script called Gillies Bold, which was designed in the U.S.A. in 1935, and which is letterspaced quite widely. The logo above the label name looks quite cute, of a figure holding a large shiny record. The 'merengue' is a Latin-American style of dance which originated in the Dominican Republic, the steps to which are a sort of minuet.
