Design: The label name is based on a brush script style, but is clumsily done, being cramped in some areas and wide open in others. The swashes, wide enough to incorporate lettering, are handled without real understanding of the genre.
History: Thanks for updated info to Marc Miller, who writes: "The Red Robin label was run by Bobby Robinson, owner of Bobby's Record Shop on 125th St. in Harlem, NYC. The label was in operation c. 1952-56. Robinson also owned the Fire, Fury, Enjoy and Everlast labels." Label scan courtesy of disc jockey John Worthington of CKUA radio network, Alberta, Canada.
