Nixa (U.K.) / c. 1958

back next

Design: Very much like the Telefunken design, with the slice-of-pie shape at the top. The label name is lettered in an Art Deco style, with the wavy inline (compare with the Aerophone label from the 1930s). Why the fleur-de-lis logo appears is unknown.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector and musicologist Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who writes: "Active between 1955 and 1965, the label started out as Nixa, then became Pye-Nixa, and finally, Pye."
