Design: Generally, for a designer to use italic capital swash letters to make a word is not considered in good taste. However, the label name logo is quite attractive, its 'Englishness' deriving from Caslon's 18th century letterforms.
History: Founded in 1947 as a subsidiary of Decca. Below: Canadian version of the same label, with the label name printed gold on blue rather than reversed out to white. Alternate ('Not For Sale') version courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who notes that this record was noted in the December 1953 issue of Billboard magazine as being the #1 hit in England.|
