Design: The label name type is Albertus, designed in 1935 by Berthold Wolpe, a German Jew who emigrated to England in the early 1930s because of the threat of the Nazi regime.

History: Emil Berliner founded the Berliner Gram-O-Phone company in Montreal in 1900, which featured the name 'His Master's Voice' on the label. Victor acquired Berliner's Canadian-based company in 1924, running it as a subsidiary from then on.
