Design: The label, covering the entire side of the record (the reverse carries the theme song, whistled by Brother Bones) is made to look like a real basketball, crossed with seams, and features cut-out photographs of team members performing their skilful routines, as well as the faces of the team's owner/coach, Abe Saperstein, and Brother Bones. The Columbia movie mentioned at the top was released in 1951.

History: The Harlem Globetrotters (who originated in Chicago, not New York, despite the name) trace their beginnings to 1927; the records were probably sold at their world-famous performances. Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany.
