Design: At the top is a circle containing an outline of France, with the several neighbouring countries to the east represented as fragments. A star is also shown, positioned over the location of the city of Paris. The image is centred over a flowing swallow-tailed banner, but the mood of gaiety is muted by the thin and austere-looking roman capitals of the label name. The imprinting is done in Gill Sans, a British-designed font. Whether the record name was inspired by the Festival of Britain, a huge national celebration which took place in 1951, is unknown (the colour scheme of which also featured red, white and gold).
History: Label and sleeve scan below courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who notes that the artist listed here, André Vechuren, was a popular Belgian accordionist.
