Design: The design has been attractively upgraded, the border elements being simplified into hard-edged lines, the circular ones contrasting well with the horizontal ones. The colour combination has also moved to the warm side of the colour spectrum. Though the weight of the label name lettering is lighter, the black-and-yellow contrast is greater than the blue-on-white of the previous label, and thus has more visual impact.
History: From 1943 to 1965, the Electrecord label was the only 78 rpm label being released in Communist-run Romania (with the exception of Columbia -- until 1950 -- and the short-lived Sonola label in 1947). Label scan courtesy of collector Florin Caloianu of Romania.
