Design: The label name might have suggested a historical look backwards (e.g. the discovery of America) but the country was beginning to look to space for new horizons of discovery; the label name lettering has a distinctively 'Star Wars' look to it. The blue and silver colour combination is very appropriate.
History: Founded in 1948 by jazz fan and promoter Albert Marx, who acquired the back-catalogues of Musicraft Records and Trend Records, reissuing them through the 1980s. In 1993, the label was acquired by Warner Music Group; in 1996 it was absorbed by Sire Records.
