Design: A clean, attractive design featuring a tulip-like flower-head border issuing from a vase of the same plant.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who notes that the "Variable Grade" notation refers to a process patented by Deutsche Grammophon in 1947 which could increase the recording time of shellac records by varying the distance between the grooves, depending on the audio level, and which was used for their classical music series.
