Cadence (U.S.A.) / c. 1956

back next

Design: A metronome is used to symbolize rhythmic tempo in this symmetrical, Art-Deco-looking design. The design format and colouring is similar to the Kapp label. One of many 1950s labels to use a burgundy and silver colour combination.

History: The label name is associated with musical terminology: "Cadence: a sequence of notes or chords comprising the close of a musical phrase (from the Italian cadenza, based on the Latin cadere, to fall)." Launched in 1952, and surviving until 1964.
