Bermuda: Talbot Brothers (Bermuda) / c. 1960

Design: A very basic design, with the label name hand-lettered in a casual yet controlled brush script style with a flamboyant initial B, set at an upward-moving angle, the whole suggesting creativity, rhythm and optimism. The white release on a blue background might also suggest white-crested breakers on a blue ocean.

History: According to Wikipedia, the Talbot Brothers (formed in 1942) were the first of Bermuda's notable singing groups to gain international acclaim by performing their own unique style of calypso music. Beginning in the early 1950s, the group travelled extensively in the U.S., often appearing on American national TV, and eventually releasing LP albums on the ABC Paramount label. Evidently the above was one of their privately-made releases, which were probably sold at live concerts. Whether the label bore any relation to the Bermuda label on the previous page is unknown.
