Angelique Recording

Angelique Recording (U.S.A.) / c. 1952

back next

Design: A hand-drawn curlicued Gothic for the song title ('Singing the Rosary'), evidently created by a brush rather than a broad-nibbed pen, and probably done at same-size reproduction. The dots are missing on the lowercase 'i' and the outer ring of dots is quite uneven, as is the lettering at the top, but these irregularities add to the label's charm.

History: Unknown, 'Angelique' evidently being the name of a particular Roman Catholic saint or church. Label scan courtesy of collector John Anderson of the U.S.A.
