Alpine (U.S.A. ethnic) / c. 1955

Design: The hand-drawn label name and edelweiss flowers (similar in appearance to those seen on the Edelweiss label) follow a tighter curve than the outer perimeter, an unusual arrangement but effectively suggesting a mountain-top. Despite the mix of font styles (serif, sans serif, copperplate script) the overall appearance is clean and tidy.

History: Possibly a private 'vanity' label, though collector John Anderson of the U.S.A., who kindly supplied the scan, notes that the group featured here might well have launched their recording career on this small regional label, since they also appear on a wider national scene on the Chicago-based Rondo label.
