Tono 2

Tono (Denmark) / 1949

back next

Design: As previous except that the upper and lower panels are now more clearly defined by way of a cream-coloured reversed panel. It is perhaps unusual that the imprinting is done on the darker background colour; usually, the logo is contained in the darker area (e.g. Beltona).

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Kjell Thorsen of Norway, who writes: "In Denmark, Benna Moe [the artist featured here] was a serious and well-known organist, pianist, singer and composer. This recording was made in Copenhagen in 1949, on the Wurlitzer organ in the high-class Palladium cinema. Built in 1938, with a capacity of 1300 seats, the Palladium remained in business until 1960."
