Design: The logo of a leaping deer is identical to that seen on the Baida Record label of the 1930s (right), as is the banner containing the label name. "Several members of the Baida family of Beirut, Lebanon founded the Baidaphon label in the early 1900s, their records being at first manufactured in Germany. Eventually, the company's operations expanded into several countries across the Arabic world; after becoming linked with Egyptian singer and composer Mohammed abdel Wahhab, the Egyptian branch morphed into the Cairophon label. With the outbreak of WWII, the record manufacturing aspect of the business was switched from Germany to Switzerland (info: rateyourmusic.com)."

History: Unknown (have info? Please send to info.re.78s@shaw.ca). Label scan courtesy of collector Michael Robertson of Canada.
