Design: An old-fashioned layout, with a Victorian-era border and whimsical lettering with bifurcated serifs for the label name. Even the corporate name (Standard Phonograph) has an old-fashioned ring to it.

History: According to Allan Sutton and Kurt Nauck (American Record Labels and Companies, Mainspring Press, 2000), the Standard label was owned by Tetos Demetriades, most of its catalogue being Greek and other ethnic fare. Launched in 1941, it lasted into the 1950s. Label scan courtesy of collector Ken Hagelthorn of the U.S.A.
