Design: The label name is set in an extreme 'modern' style, with strong vertical and thin horizontal strokes, a popular fashion in the 1940s. Charlie Christian, the electric guitarist featured here, played with the Benny Goodman organization from 1939 to 1942, the year of his death (probably from tuberculosis).
History: Label scan courtesy of jazzologist and collector Dave Dixon of Canada, who writes: "This recording of Stardust was a bootleg issue taken from the lesser known October 1939 Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall concert. Interestingly, it is a recording made from a different audio perspective as other issues of that concert. This was a late 1940s issue from New York bootlegger Boris Rose, and was perhaps the only issue with that label."
