Norsk Grammofon

Norsk Grammofon (Norway) / c. 1948

Design: The upper segment of the label bears a resemblance to an old radio dial, with music notes arbitrarily positioned on a rainbow-shaped music staff.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Kjell Thorsen of Norway, who writes: "Norsk Grammofon Kompani had many different designs for their record labels, according to type of music 'theme' the release was going to have. The recording is supposed to be done after 1939, since this composition refers to that particular year. During the 1930s Walfred Andersen was a well-known violin player who also conducted his own orchestra. Note that this record release shows neither the matrix number or catalogue number, but does show two telephone numbers!"
