Minerva (Canada) / 1942

back next

Design: Minerva was the Roman name for the helmeted Athena, Greek goddess of crafts and war. The flowing wing-shapes either side of the bust are echoed in the curvilinear line of lettering.

History: Launched in 1935 and continuing until 1942, the hard-to-find Minerva records were pressed for the Canadian T. Eaton store chain by Herbert Berliner's Compo company (the above was the last issue).
