Design: The strange illustration depicts a mermaid reclining seductively on a sandy beach, under the shade of a Japanese-style parasol. According to a Wikipedia entry, "Medea is known in most stories from ancient Greece as being a priestess of the goddess Hecate or a witch." The heavy semicircular border around the lower segment features an unusual star pattern.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Dimitar Malchev of Bulgaria, who notes: "The label stayed the same through the 1930s and 1940s. An interesting and charming picture!"
