Design: Perhaps the label name came from the fact that many residents of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland etc., having been settled by families of Scots-Irish background, had names beginning with the prefix "Mc-", as here, in McNabb. The script lettering of the label name, especially the cap M and the swash underline, is somewhat laboured. Reversing the background to black has provided strength in the upper segment, while making it easy for imprinting in the lower.
History: Unknown (have info? Please send to email@example.com). Evidently a small regional label; Winston 'Scotty' Fitzgerald (1914-1987) was a well-known Cape Breton fiddler. Label scan courtesy of collector Owen Burgess of Canada.
