Design: One of several post-war 'revivalist' labels that catered to an informed, select clientele and thus did not need to rely heavily on the visual impact of graphics to generate sales.
History: Label scan courtesy of collector Kjell Thorsen of Norway, who writes: "Founded in 1949, Jazz Collector specialized in the re-releasing of vintage jazz recordings from the 1920s. The releases began at L-1 and continued to something over L-100. The sound quality of releases varied somewhat since they were dubbed from the original 78 rpm discs. The date of the original recording is noted on the labels."
