Electrecord 2

Electrecord (Romania) / 1943

back next

Design: The Pac-Man style design makes use of a stylized piano keyboard, but for all the graphic effort, there is little visual impact.

History: Label scans above and below courtesy of collector Florin Caloianu of Romania, who notes that the Electrecord series first introduced into Romania (1932-1934) was made in Germany. The second series (1934-1936) was made in Romania. From 1943 on the Electrecord label, shown here (featuring a variety of designs) was the only label on the Romanian market, except for Columbia (until 1950) and Sonola, which appeared for a short time in 1947.
