Design: The blue and white colour combination reflects the national flag of Israel, which features the Star of David. Hebrew lettering lends itself to strong graphic logos, as can be seen either side of the label name.
History: The 'Palmach' was the strike force of the Haganah, an underground army formed in 1941 in preparedness to combat the threat of a German invasion of Palestine, and which went on to become an important component of Israel's defence forces after the successful war of independence (1948). Manufactured by the Levy Sound Studios of Regent Street, London (makers of the Oriole line of records), who frequently pressed records for other organizations.
