Colorschall

Colorschall (Germany) / c. 1941

back next

Design: The layout adheres to the standard Telefunken "pie-chart" format, and features a very high standard of calligraphy and typography.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "Colorschall was issued by Agfa and manufactured by Telefunken. The record was sold with a set of diapositives, so that during the narration a small bell would sound here and there to manage the next picture to be shown on the wall. The record seems to be something like an early "Fullschrift," with about eight minutes per 30cm side, but because a special long-play needle is recommended, I think it is true that the records were of the same duration as the (missing) diapositives, which were issued in 1941."
