Design: The illustration shows Romulus and Remus, mythological illegitimate offspring of the war-god Mars, being suckled by a she-wolf after being abandoned to their fate. Eventually, the boys were adopted by a shepherd; Romulus is supposed to have founded the city of Rome, bestowing his name upon it. The basic format is similar to the USSR label, with the lower segment being defined by a heavy half-circle, though here formed in part by a Greek key pattern.
History: An Italian record company that issued recordings in the operatic vein. It lasted into the 1960s. Label scan courtesy of collector Dimitar Malchev of Bulgaria; alternate colour scan below (from c. 1950) courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany.
