Design: The iconic images of Egypt: pyramids, palm trees, a blazing sun and dhows on the Nile. A tightly-drawn illustration contained within a semicircular banner. The horizontal lines detract somewhat from the potential maximum impact.
History: Unknown (have info? Please send to firstname.lastname@example.org). Label scan courtesy of collector and musicologist Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes: "The artist was Egyptian. Pathé-Marconi was a subsidiary of EMI." Thanks to collector Peter Fraissinet of the U.S.A. for the following label scan and info: "Looks like the Cairophon label (UK) is from 1948 or so; all three discs of mine, HPB.12, HPB.13 and HPB.24 have a publisher's sticker carrying that date [see label scan below], so a little earlier than you had it listed [c. 1952]."
