Buenas Nuevas

Buenas Nuevas (U.S.A. ethnic) / c. 1945

Design: The label name is hand-lettered, the letters being slightly spread out at the top in an attempt to compensate for the visual gaps that would normally occur when using a curved baseline.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes: "I have no idea of what country these 8" diameter recordings emanate from as they appear in a multitude of languages. The label name means 'Good News.'" Thanks for an update to collector Mike Jones of the U.S.A., who writes: "I have a Buenas Nuevas record (22-7A-GN 3408/3409) which reads: 'Buenas Nuevas Gospel Recordings Incorporated. Non Profit Evangelical.' Then around bottom of label: 'Copyright 1947 by Gospel Recordings Inc., 124 Witmer St., Los Angeles, Cal. U.S.A.'"
