Brunswick 3

Brunswick (U.K.) / 1940

Design: Beginning in the early 1930s, the Ink Spots (a wry comment on their skin colour), an American harmony group with Bill Kenny in the lead vocal role, rose to worldwide fame in the 1940s; this British-made picture label is a rare tribute to their popularity (most of their releases appeared on the Decca label). Because the name was never copyrighted and there were many schisms within the original group, many imitators of the same name sprang up to confuse the general public.

History: As previous. Label scan courtesy of collector Kjell Thorsen of Norway.
