Design: The name on this ethnically Scottish label is rendered in a letterform that has both Roman and Gothic characteristics (note the rounded 'e' and 'o,' as opposed to the angular 't' and 'n'). The design at the centre of the crest is a stylized Scottish thistle.

History: Launched in 1922, the label was bought by Edison Bell in 1927, and in 1933 was acquired by Decca. The company is still active: www.beltona.co.uk/
