April Factory 1

April Factory (U.S.S.R.) / 1943

back next

Design: A swallow, distinguishable by its deeply forked tail, flashes through a music clef (note the border at the foot, also fork-tailed), with the rays of the rising sun in the background. The swallow (not to be confused with the American bluebird) is also featured on the Japanese Nitto label.

History: Thanks for info to collector Yuri Bernikov of Russia, who writes: "The label's poor quality reflects the fact it was produced during WWII -- more precisely in 1943, soon after the factory had been won back from the Germans." See www.Russian-Records.com
