Ultraphon 7

Ultraphon (Czechoslovakia) / 1938

back next

Design: As the previous label, except that here the photograph occupies the entire upper segment and the typography in the lower segment is slightly different.

History: Ultraphon, a German company, was owned by Küchenmeister of Holland. Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "The record contains a speech by president Beneš to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Czechoslovak republic, but the interesting point here is that Beneš had actually resigned his presidency two weeks before the date of this anniversary. Resigning on October 5, he immediately went into exile in the West."
