Ufficio Concerti

Ufficio Concerti: Disco di Propaganda (Italy) / c. 1933

back next

Design: The somewhat complex background shows the initials VC for Ufficio Concerti (prior to the 15th century, the Roman alphabet had no letter U, using V instead) with a stylized figure wearing a toga blowing a long horn (right). The image and all the lettering is very much in the Art Deco style, with the background being gradated off with a dotted pattern.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "This advertising/commercial ('propaganda') record was published by a well-known Milanese concert agency, Moltrasio & Luzzatto, and features recordings of Tino (Antonín) Šimek, a tenor at the National Theater in Prague."
