Samaritaine (France) / 1933

Design: Amazing Art Deco lettering forms the label name, which sits on a highly unusual V-shaped baseline (perhaps based on the chevron design appearing on the parent Salabert label, right) the music staff appearing below it seeming to be arbitrary 'filler.'

History: Evidently a sub-label of the Salabert publishing house. Perhaps the biblical name 'Samaritan' was chosen because of the unspoken allusion to it being 'good.' Label scan courtesy of collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
