Rex 1

Rex (Norway) / c. 1938

Design: The lettering style of the label name is similar in feel to the American Rex label of an earlier date, with its thick outlining and sweeping lines. The area dividing the upper and lower segments is rather like the beam of a lighthouse -- or, soon to be commonplace, an anti-aircraft searchlight.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Kjell Thorsen of Norway, who notes that this label was active between 1934 and 1939, and that this item was recorded in September 1938 in the capital city of Oslo.
