Regal (Japan) / c. 1932

Design: The stub-serif font style used for the label name is the same as seen on the earlier Regal label from England (and Regal Zonophone, see next page), but the organic bracketed outer border seems to have been influenced by the contemporaneous Victor 'scroll' design.

History: Nippon Columbia was established in 1910 and at first used the name Nipponophone. In 1931 it became affiliated with the Columbia Graphophone Co. of England in 1931, adopting the standard UK Columbia trademarks such as the 'Magic Notes' logo at the top.
