Design: One of the seven ancient wonders of the world, the forty-story high Pharos lighthouse stood offshore from the city of Alexandria in Egypt. Constructed in the third century B.C., it lasted until about the fourteenth century A.D. Effective use is made here of mechanical screens for the single-colour printing, and the lettering for the label name is treated quite stylishly. Note the hint of the Victor 'bat-wing' format in the upper segment, while the proportions of the lower segment echoes the Brunswick format.
