Design: Thin-thick 'Oxford' lines unify the disparate shapes: the semicircular segment at the foot, the oblong containing the label name, and the logo at the top.

History: Parlophone was one of several labels (including Odeon, on which this design is based, see right) owned by Carl Lindström, a German businessman whose international business activities had been curtailed by the outbreak of WWI. It was the first German label to reappear in England after the war, and soon became one of the major players in the record field.
