Design: The 'Ateneul Roman' architectural logo appearing on the previous label is replaced by some powerful graphic and typographic treatment, with the label name lettered in extremely bold, stylized sans serif (though the stress on the 'A' is, technically, on the wrong side of the letter). Collector Florin Caloianu writes: "The image of the mythological shepherd/goat Pan shows him playing the 'nai,' a traditional Romanian instrument, also known as the 'pan flute' (as played by the internationally-known Romanian singer/player Gheorghe Zamfir)." The image is more clearly depicted on the very slickly-illustrated record sleeve (below).
History: Launched in 1935, the Pan label survived until 1938. Label and sleeve scans courtesy of collector Florin Caloianu of Romania, who notes that all Romanian Pan labels are very rare.
