Design: The Free French, mainly composed of those of the military who had managed to escape from Nazi-occupied France during WWII and, under the leadership of General Charles de Gaulle, take the part of the Allied forces, adopted the distinctive Cross of Lorraine as their logo. The red, white and blue colours are those of the flag of France, and the rings are reminiscent of aircraft markings. The gold overprinting is rather hard to read on the deep blue background.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Martín Javier Gorosito of Argentina, who notes: "This rare label is an Argentine edition of a record issued by the Free French."
