New Moon 1

New Moon (Hong Kong) / c. 1935

back next

Design: An unusual design arrangement, with the label name bouncing over the spindle hole beneath a new moon reclining on its back (probably for design symmetry reasons). Note the elaborate decoration on the moonrays, and the degree of accuracy required in the printing register to create the outlining of the label name and the white release around the centre and lower panels.

History: Unknown (have info? Please send to Label scan courtesy of collector Jukka Kettunen of Finland, who also supplied the following translation: "New Moon / Music Expert / Ensemble famous music / Gao Yu Peng (person's name), dulcimer / Lv Wen Cheng (person's name), Chinese violin / Qian Guang Ren (person's name), Caenz caenzgimz (a national musical instrument)."
