Design: Obviously an adaptation of the 1930s Art Deco-influenced Brunswick label; the script for the label name is lettered in the same style.
History: Apparently manufactured in Japan by the Nipponophone company, acquired by Columbia in 1925. Columbia acquired the Brunswick name in 1932; their 'note' logo appears at the top. Label scan courtesy of collector Liam Smythe of Canada, who writes of his find: "This label released American hits to U.S. citizens living in Japan. It folded in 1940 when the Japanese government made foreign culture illegal. If anyone could help, I would like to get some idea of its rarity."
