Design: As with many childrens' records, the label design is aimed at catching a child's eye with pictures rather than words. The illustrations here are very nicely drawn (detail below). In the background, though screened back rather too much in the pale blue second colour, is an attractive rural scene of hills and trees.

History: The nursery rhymes are quintessentially English; whether the record was marketed in England or India (where it would likely have been aimed at the children of the British administration, the Raj, which lasted until 1947) is unknown.
