International Record Collectors' Club (U.S.A.) / c. 1933

Design: A remarkably poor arrangement of type, with no attempt at design. The only redeeming feature of visual appeal is the cut-out photograph of the artist, in this case a superstar of earlier years, Nellie Melba (who died in 1931).

History: Launched in 1932 as limited-edition issues of historic operatic recordings, IRCC lasted into the 1940s (the master of this recording had been made in 1905). Produced for the owner, William H. Seltsam, by RCA Victor. Label scan courtesy of collector Ken Hagelthorn of the U.S.A.
