Edison Bell Winner

Edison Bell Winner (U.K.) / 1930

back next

Design: This label has an old-fashioned look, being more typical of the 1910-1920 timeframe.

History: Edison Bell started out as cylinder manufacturers. The Winner name, added in 1912, lasted until 1933, when the label was bought by Decca. Musicologist Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K. notes: "This issue was recorded in London in March 1930. "The name on the label conceals the identity of a famous Scottish musical hall artist, Harry Gordon, who recorded for Parlophone and Beltona."
