Dixi (Czechoslovakia) / 1933

Design: A very nice piece of lettering for the label name, with a classic swash initial. It appears to be an amalgam of classic roman italic, with bracketed serifs, and pen calligraphy, with linking upstrokes joining each character.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "Dixi was made on order for the department store chain JE-PA of Jentsch and Pachner Co. The matrices, obtained from C. Lindström A.G., were recorded in Berlin and pressed in the factory of GC in Aussig (Ústí) in Czechoslovakia."
