Design: The rising sun, a primary symbol of the Art Deco style (which had its beginnings in France in 1925), is clearly evident here (compare with the Aerophone label from the same era); the label name is splayed around the outer edge to emphasize the visual effect of the rising sun. The 'electric recording' process was developed around the same time, so this label probably had its beginnings in the late 1920s.
History: Unknown (have info? Please send to firstname.lastname@example.org). Label scan above courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "In a 1938 trade mark listing, 'Georges Marin' (whose name appears above as being the orchestra leader) is referenced as being the owner of the Disque Mariel label, but his full name was probably Georges Marinkovitch (also as appearing above). In the 1950s Georges Marinkovitch was known as a guitar and zither player."
