Design: Columbia's chubby-looking label is made more so by a switch to a line of ultra-bold caps for the name.
History: Columbia's ownership went bankrupt in late 1933. In 1934 the label was absorbed by the American Record Corporation. After being acquired by CBS, the label went on to become a major force in the LP market.
